(From Wikipedia)Child Support Reform NOW is a site that may effect change to a system that denies individuals their Constitutional rights and perpetuates a form of financial slavery to the child support system. This site will act as a comprehensive database of individual experiences faced by most fathers (and in rare cases, some mothers) that have fallen victim to the child support system. The purpose of this website is to tell your story and share your experiences with the child support system. We hope that this website will be noticed and that we can use the experiences of our contributors to effect change. Ultimately, we will be using each and every one of these stories to show lawmakers the need to have these unfair laws changed. There must be a balance of justice for those of us who have been disenfranchised from our own children by the unfair system. As we are approaching an unprecedented election year it appears now is the time to act for ourselves and our families. The laws as they exist now do not help our children. To the contrary, these laws keep us from earning the salaries that will ensure support for our children. Why is it allowed that a family support division has the unilateral discretion to take away a drivers license from a "dead beat father", when convicted felons are allowed to drive to and from work? It is not always about the children, it is, however, about those of us who desire that the "dead beat dad" stigma be removed because we do pay, or are willing to pay for our children, but we are inhibited because of the system as it exists. In a system that removes our civil liberties, we are helpless to help our children yet the courts demand that child support be paid and threaten incarceration for failure to do so. Men want to work and pay their support obligation but cannot because their basic liberties are being stripped away from them by the courts, rendering them incapable of working. |
